Meetings and Events

Chapter Meetings of the Charleston Chapter are usually held at 2:30 pm on the 3rd Sunday of the month (with some exceptions for holidays). There are no meetings in June, July or August. Please check the events calendar to verify whether a meeting will be virtual (participation via Zoom) or will be held in-person.

Board Meetings of the Charleston Chapter are usually held by Zoom at 7:00 PM on Thursdays, but dates vary so please check our events calendar below. Contact any board member if you would like to participate or have a topic to discuss at a board meeting.

December 2017 Chapter Meeting

Join us for our annual holiday meeting - everyone is asked to bring a favorite finger-food.  Several of our Chapter members will also give brief "show and tell" presentations about their genealogy accomplishments during 2017.

April 2018 Chapter Meeting

Chapter member Doreen Larimer will review how land was granted and developed in South Carolina. Our Charleston County Public Library has an extensive collection of will and deed abstracts for SC counties, and Doreen will focus on how to use them to locate our ancestor’s land.

May 2018 Chapter Meeting

Local scuba diving enthusiast Drew Ruddy will present "The Lewisfield Vessel - a British Casualty of the 1781 Dog Day Foray." Drew will explain what he's discovered while diving on this little known Revolutionary War wreck in the upper reaches of the Cooper River.
